🔧 Setup Guide

Follow these steps once to connect your database and go live. Takes about 15 minutes.

Create a Free Supabase Account

Supabase is your free database that stores all your truck listings and photos.

Go to supabase.com and click "Start your project"
Sign up with your email or GitHub account
Click "New Project", name it connect-fleet-sales
Choose a strong database password (save it somewhere safe)
Select the region closest to you (e.g. US East)
Wait ~2 minutes for your project to spin up

Create Your Database Tables

In your Supabase project, click SQL Editor in the left sidebar, then paste and run this SQL:

Click Run after pasting. You should see "Success" in green.

Create a Photo Storage Bucket

In Supabase, click Storage in the left sidebar
Click "New Bucket"
Name it exactly: truck-photos
Check "Public bucket" (so photos show on your site)
Click Create bucket

Get Your API Keys

In Supabase, click Project Settings (gear icon) → API
Copy your Project URL (looks like https://xxxx.supabase.co)
Copy your anon / public key (long string starting with eyJ…)
Open the file config.js in your downloaded site folder
Paste both values in the spots shown

Deploy to Netlify (Free Hosting)

Go to netlify.com and sign up free
From your dashboard, drag your entire connect-fleet-sales folder onto the deploy area
Your site goes live instantly at a free URL like connect-fleet-sales.netlify.app
To use a custom domain (e.g. connectfleetsales.com), click Domain settings in Netlify — costs ~$12/yr for the domain name itself

Every time you update your config.js or any file, just re-drag the folder to Netlify to redeploy. Takes 30 seconds.

Log In and Add Your First Listing

Visit your live site and click Admin in the top menu
Default password is fleet2024
Go to Site Settings first — update your phone, email, and location
Change your admin password in Settings
Click Add Listing and add your first truck!

✅ Once you complete these steps, your site is fully live and listings will persist for everyone who visits.
